From: tom@soda.CSUA.Berkeley.EDU (Tom Holub) Subject: INL Playoff Pairings Date: 5 Dec 1995 17:36:48 GMT As has been discussed on the newsgroup, Team Tuber, DFWI, and SAW all are tied in Division 2. For the tiebreakers, SAW loses on Planets Against. Reapplying the tiebreakers from the start, Team Tuber beats DFWI on head-to-head. Therefore, Team Tuber wins division 2 with DFWI second. In division 1, the captains did a piss-poor job of finishing their games. All uncompleted games have been declared double forfeits; the LaggU-T* game, played after the deadline, has been accepted. That puts The Babes and LaggU tied at 3-2. The Babes win the tiebreaker on head-to-head. Therefore, The Babes win division 1 with LaggU second. The playoff pairings: Round 1: Complete ASAP DFWI at The Babes LaggU at Team Tuber Round 2: Complete whenever DFWI-Babes winner vs. LaggU-Tuber winner on a neutral server Losers play a consolation game on a neutral server. Thanks for making this an interesting season, and we hope to see you all in the spring. -Tom From: markiel@callisto.pas.rochester.edu (Andrew Markiel) Subject: CORRECTION: INL Playoff Pairings Date: Wed, 6 Dec 95 18:34:05 GMT This has already gone out to the affected captains, but so everyone knows: Tom made a mistake in the game counts, it turns out that with the LaggU-T* result, LaggU finishes 4-1 (losing to Babes). Babes were 3-0 in games they played, but were hit with two double forfeits and thus finish 3-2. This means that LaggU wins division 1. This means that the official playoff pairings are: Babes at Tubers DFWI at LaggU winners play on a neutral server. Sorry for the confusion. Later today (when I get a chance to collect statsfrom the archive) I'll post the season results for all the teams. -Grey Elf markiel@callisto.pas.rochester.edu INLC: inlcouncil@soda.csua.berkeley.edu netrek ftp site: ftp.csua.berkeley.edu /pub/netrek netrek home page: http://www.cycor.ca/TCave/netrek.html
